On Diwali, a one-hour Muhurat Trading occurs in the evening. In 2025, the Muhurat Trading will occur on October 21, the day of Diwali-Laxmi Puja. The NSE has not yet notified the Muhurat Trading hours for 2025.
NSE Timings
The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) is open from Monday to Friday – 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM on all trading days. To enable pre-market sessions for trading, the NSE has the facility to give order entry between 9:00 am and 9:15 AM, in support of the T+0 norms.
There is a post-closing session which lasts for 30 minutes (3:30 PM to 4:00 PM) to adjust trades.
According to NSE's holiday list trading remains closed on weekends as well as all national and regional holidays. For other segments like currency, commodities and derivatives the stock exchange allows different trading periods, which could be beyond the regular market hours.
