Waaree Energies share price falls over 3% as 6-month shareholder lock-in period ends

Waaree Energies share price: Shares of solar photovoltaic module manufacturer Waaree Energies declined on Friday as the six-month shareholder lock-in period ends.

As many as 15 crore shares became eligible for trading. It is worth noting that the expiration of the lock-in period means that these equity shares are now eligible for trading, and it does not imply that all shares will be sold in the open market.

The stock fell 3.35% to ₹2,744.9 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 9:22 am.

For the quarter ended March 2025, the renewable energy company recorded a 34.1% jump in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to ₹618.91 crore. The post-tax profit was ₹461.52 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue from operations surged 36.38% to ₹4,003.93 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25 as against ₹2,935.84 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, the company said in an exchange filing.

The company's order book stood at ₹47,000 crore for 25 gigawatt (GW).

Waaree Energies CEO Amit Paithankar said, "FY25 marks a pivotal inflection point in Waaree’s journey—a year where our strategy, scale, and execution converged to deliver industry-leading EBITDA performance of ₹3,123.20 crore. This performance underscores the strength of our execution capabilities and the quality of the order book, with centred focus on margins."

He said that the firm's 1.6 GW module manufacturing plant is operational in Brookshire, USA. "This reinforces our commitment to the American market and underlines our local-for-local manufacturing philosophy," the CEO said.

EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) increased 120.6% to ₹922.6 crore in the quarter under review, compared to ₹418.3 crore a year back. The margin was 23% in Q4 FY25 vs 14.3% in the March quarter of FY24.

For the fiscal year 2026, the company's EBITDA outlook is ₹5,500 crore to ₹6,000 crore.
