Top gainers and losers on May 6: Adani Enterprises, Jio Financial, Eternal fall over 3%; check full list

Stock list

The Indian equity benchmarks snapped their two-day winning streak on Tuesday dragged down by weakness in heavyweights like Reliance Industries, State Bank of India, Eternal, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finance. The SENSEX fell as much as 316 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 24,331.80. The SENSEX ended 156 points lower at 80,641.07 and NIFTY50 index declined 82 points to close at 24,379.60.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Adani Enterprises was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 4.30% to close at ₹2,350. Jio Financial Services (-3.68%), Eternal (-3%), Trent (-2.80%) and SBI Life (-2.53%) were also among the losers.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 2.48% to close at ₹3,861. Bharti Airtel (1.61%), Hindustan Unilever (1.41%), Tata Steel (1.37%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.22%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index fell 2.27% or 1,240 points to close at 53,435.85. As many as 92 shares in the index ended lower while eight shares managed to end higher.

Godrej Properties was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index. The stock fell 6.36% to close at ₹2,078. Bank of India (-6.33%), Union Bank of India (-6.19%), Paytm (-5.72%) and Suzlon (-5.48%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Polycab rose2% to close at ₹5,910 after it reported a 33.1% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its consolidated net profit at ₹727 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025 (Q4 FY25).

The company had posted a profit of ₹546 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue from the operations came in at ₹6,986 crore, up 24.9% against the ₹5,592 crore registered in the year-ago period.

Max Healthcare rose 2.24% after reports suggested that it has joined race to acquire Sahyadri Hospital. Muthoot Finance (1.83%), Biocon (1.52%) and Yes Bank (1.41%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index fell 2.5% or 415 points to close at 16,195.15. As many as 92 shares in the index ended lower.

Sonata Software wad top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock declined 7.77% to close at ₹389.50. RailTel (-6.21%), Reliance Power (6.11%), NCC (-5.95%) and Jupiter Wagons (-5.82%) were also among the laggards.

On the contrary, Chambal Fertilisers roe 5.38% to close at ₹728. Newgen Technologies (1.80%), Dr Lal Path Labs (1.76%), Narayana Hrudayalaya (0.60%) and Tejas Networks (0.39%) were also among the gainers.
