SUMMARY
Jio Financial Services was top gainer in the NIFTY50 basket of shares, the stock rose 5.61% to close at ₹225.49 after the company informed exchanges that its NBFC arm Jio Finance Limited has introduced fully digital Loan Against Securities (LAS) for its customers.

The Indian equity benchmarks staged a strong bounce back on Tuesday, April 8, on the back of strong global cues, value buying at lower levels along with a short covering rally. The SENSEX rose as much as 1,669 points to hit an intraday high of 74,806.59 and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 22,672.90 led by gains in index heavyweights like Infosys, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro and ICICI Bank. The SENSEX ended 1,089 points or 1.49% higher at 74,227 and NIFTY50 index advanced 374 points or 1.69% to close at 22,535.85.

Bharat Electronics rose 3.69% to close at ₹282.15 after the state-owned defence major announced an order win from the Indian Air Force, valued at ₹2,210 crore.
The Navratna Defence PSU has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence for supply of an indigenously developed Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite for the Mi-17 V5 helicopters.
Shriram Finance (5.21%), Adani Enterprises (3.45%) and Cipla (3.44%) were also among the gainers.
On the flipside, Power Grid was the only loser in the NIFTY50 index.
NIFTY Midcap 100 index surged 2.11% or 1,028.55 points to close at 49,838. As many as 94 shares in the 100-share index ended higher while six closed lower. HUDCO was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock surged 6.59% to close at ₹207.73 after the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
As per the MoU, HUDCO will explore and provide funds to the tune of ₹1.5 lakh crore over the next five years for various infrastructure projects under the MMRDA, HUDCO said in an exchange filing.
PB Fintech (6.38%), BSE (6.13%), IRB Infra Developers (6.02%) and Biocon (4.76%) were also among the gainers.
On the flipside, Indraprastha Gas was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 3.50% to close at ₹181.25. Vodafone Idea (-2.58%), Mankind Pharma (-1.95%), Astral (-1.30%) and Tube Investments of India (-0.26%) were also among the notable losers.
NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 2.13% or 321 points to close at 15,389. A total of 89 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher while 11 closed lower. Kaynes Technology was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index. The stock rose 8.96% to close at ₹4,837 after report suggested that Apple is planning to source more iPhones from India to the US to beat the tariffs imposed on China. PG Electroplast (6.47%), Five-Star Business Finance (6.20%), Newgen Software Technologies (6.01%) and Aadhar Housing Finance (6%) were also among the gainers.
On the flipside, Delhivery was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock declined 7.04% to close at ₹249.45. International Gemmological Institute (-5%), Welspun Corp (-2.86%), Aegis Logistics (-2.74%) and Castrol India (-2.5%) were also among the laggards.
