Tata Power share price: Shares of Tata Power will be in focus on Friday, December 12, after it received a letter of intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd for the acquisition of Jejuri Hinjewadi Power Transmission Ltd, a project special purpose vehicle (SPV).

The project SPV, Jejuri Hinjewadi Power Transmission Limited, will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate Transfer basis to provide transmission services for 35 years from the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD), set 24 months after the SPV transfer, a regulatory filing dated December 11 said.

According to the filing, the project includes the construction of approximately 115 km of 400 kV double-circuit (D/c) line between Jejuri and Hinjewadi and the extension of 400 kV GIS line bays at substations in both locations.

The SCOD (scheduled commercial operation date) is 24 months from the effective date (SPV transfer).

Tata Power will have a transmission service agreement period of 35 years.

The order includes construction and commissioning of 400 kV D/c overhead transmission lines from Jejuri to Hinjewadi, along with 400 kV bays at substations in both locations.

The award is placed on the company for 35 years with annual transmission charges of ₹155.78 crore.

Tata Power stock performance

Shares of Tata Power closed 0.04% higher at ₹380 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday. However, the development was announced after the market closed.

The stock has declined more than 1% in the past week and nearly 4% over the month. On a year-to-date basis, it has fallen over 3%.

While the scrip touched a year’s low of ₹326.35 on February 17, 2025, it reached a 52-week high of ₹442.65 per equity share almost a year earlier on December 10, 2024.

Q2 Results

Tata Power posted nearly a 1% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its consolidated net profit to ₹919 crore for the second quarter of FY26, compared to ₹926.5 crore logged during the same period last year.

Its revenue from operations slipped 0.97% to ₹15,545 crore during the quarter under review, as against ₹15,698 crore seen in the September quarter of FY25.

Tata Power has a total market capitalisation of ₹1.21 lakh crore, as of December 11, 2025, according to data on the NSE.
