Stock of Sona BLW closed at ₹478.45 apiece, rising 5.95% on Wednesday.
The auto manufacturer earns about 18% to 20% of its revenue by supplying electric vehicle (EV) components to Tesla Inc.
“While the changeover of Model Y lines across all four of our factories led to the loss of several weeks of production in Q1, the ramp of the New Model Y continues to go well,” Tesla said.
The combined production of Model Y and Model three stood at 345,454 in the first quarter, which, while lower than the December quarter's production, was a return to earlier levels.
Shares of Sona BLW gained 5.92% over the last three days and 3.74% since the beginning of April. However, the scrip lost 19.56% on a year-to-date basis.
The stock hit a 52-week low of ₹380 on April 7, 2025 and a high of ₹768.65 on September 23, 2024.
Sona BLW has a total market capitalisation of ₹29,727.44 crore as of April 23, 2025, on the NSE.
Sona BLW announced a 13.8% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its net profit to ₹151 crore in the December quarter of FY25 (Q3FY25), compared to ₹132.7 crore in the year-ago period.
Its revenue from operations stood at ₹868 crore in the quarter, jumping 11% YoY from 781.7 crore in the third quarter of FY24 (Q3FY24)
The auto-component manufacturer’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 0.7% to ₹234.2 crore in Q3FY25 from ₹234.2 crore in Q3FY24. Its margin was at 27% as against 29.7% a year ago.
The company is set to declare its fourth quarter results for the 2024-25 fiscal on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
