The decision comes after the US-based solar manufacturers had accused these countries of flooding the market with cheap solar equipment and had sought an investigation, citing 'unfair practices'.
Companies in Vietnam and Thailand will face tariffs up to 395.9% and 375.2%, respectively. The duties for Malaysia were set at 34.4%.
Following the development, shares of Waaree Energies and Premier Energies were trading with gains of more than 6%.
Waaree Energies stock was trading 6.59% higher at ₹2,605.3 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 10:56 am.
The company will also announce its March quarter results on April 22. "Waaree Energies Limited has informed the Exchange about Board Meeting to be held on 22-Apr-2025 to inter-alia consider and approve the Audited Financial results of the Company for the Yearly ended March 2025," it said in an exchange filing.
Shares of Premier Energies were trading at ₹1,072.5 per unit, reflecting an increase of 6.25% on the NSE.
The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹48,345.55 crore, while free float m-cap is ₹7,058.99 crore.
On Monday, the company announced that it has informed a wholly owned unit, Premier Energies GWC Private Ltd'. The subsidiary will be engaged in "manufacturing, production and processing of high-quality silicon ingots wafer using advanced technologies and processes".
