SUMMARY
Despite the broader weakness in the markets, 139 stocks hit the upper circuit levels as compared to 95 in the lower circuit. The NIFTY50 and SENSEX fell more than 1%, taking cues from negative global markets and uncertainty over tariff impact on the global economy.

Domestic equity indices remained under pressure in late morning deals on account of selling by funds and retail investors. Meanwhile, the broader markets were also facing the heat of selling; the BSE mid-cap index declined by 2.56%, and the small-cap index was down 2.65%.
Weak cues from the global markets weighed on the domestic sentiments. Sentiments remained weak after President Donald Trump unveiled sweeping reciprocal tariffs, which raised concerns about the possibility of a global trade war and sparked a major flight to safety away from risk assets.
Most of the sectoral indices on BSE were trading in the red, with the only exception of banking counter. Stocks from Metal, Energy, Oil & Gas, Healthcare and IT counters were the prominent losers.
Broader market indices witnessed severe cuts on Friday as NIFTY midcap 100 and smallcap 100 fell 2.6% and 3.2%, respectively. Similarly, the broader market breadth also turned in favour of declines as 2158 stocks traded in red as against 494 in green.
