Stock market today: The domestic stock market was trading with solid gains in the afternoon trade on Tuesday, April 15.

At 12:42 PM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 76,840.40, up 1,683.14 points, or 2.24%, while the NSE's NIFTY50 index was ruling at 23,344, up 515.45 points, or 2.26%.

Samvardhana Motherson, Tata Motors, and other auto stocks: Auto stocks were trading with impressive gains as US President Donald Trump on Monday suggested that he might temporarily exempt the auto industry from tariffs he previously imposed on the sector to give carmakers time to adjust their supply chains.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings surged as much as 7.88% to ₹464 on the NSE. Tata Motors shares gained up to 5.4% to ₹627.45 apiece on the NSE, while Samvardhana Motherson jumped 10% to ₹130.05 on the NSE.

The NIFTY AUTO index was trading 3.38% higher at 21,243.95 levels. It hit a high of 21,276.30 during the trade.

IREDA: Shares of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) were trading over 5% higher at ₹162.05 apiece on the BSE ahead of the company's March quarter results announcement. The state-owned company reported a 27% year-on-year (YoY) rise in loan sanctions to ₹47,453 crore in 2024-25.

The PSU had sanctioned loans worth ₹37,354 crore in the previous year, IREDA said in a statement.

Loan disbursements rose 20% to ₹30,168 crore from ₹25,089 crore logged in 2023-24, as per the provisional data shared by the company.

The outstanding loan book also expanded 28% to reach ₹76,250 crore as of March 31, 2025, up from ₹59,698 crore in the previous year.

Bajaj Housing Finance: Shares of Bajaj Housing Finance were trading over 4% higher at ₹124.30 apiece on the BSE. The stock price rallied as the company's one-year shareholder lock-in period has ended.

According to a note from Nuvama Alternative & Quantitative Research, as many as 529.1 crore equity shares of Bajaj Housing Finance will become eligible to be traded as its shareholder lock-in ends. The number of shares that become eligible to be traded amounts to 64% of the company's outstanding equity.

HUL, ITC, and other FMCG stocks: Some FMCG names, which outperformed the market when it witnessed heavy correction last week, slipped during the trade today. Hindustan Unilever (HUL) shares were down 0.15%, while ITC shares were trading at ₹421.60, down 0.05%.
Dr Reddy's: Shares of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (DRL) rallied as much as 3.77% to ₹1,151.40 apiece on the NSE on Tuesday, April 15. On Monday, the company, in the regulatory filing, issued a clarification regarding the layoff reports at the company and said that the news is factually incorrect. "We categorically deny the claim of a 25% workforce cost reduction and the other claims mentioned in the said news article," the company added. READ MORE
Mazagon Dock: Shares of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders were trading 9.4% higher at ₹2,661.05 apiece on the BSE. The Board of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders approved its second interim dividend in a meeting held on Tuesday, April 8.

The interim dividend is of ₹3 per equity share of ₹5 each fully paid up for FY25, the regulatory filing said.

The PSU set Wednesday, April 16, 2025, as the record date for determining the eligibility of shareholders to participate in the dividend.

Mazagon Dock will pay the interim dividend to its eligible shareholders on or before Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Transrail Lighting: Shares of Transrail Lighting, an Indian Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company, climbed as much as 8.64% to ₹492.45 apiece in the early trade on Tuesday, April 15, on the BSE, on securing new orders worth ₹1,085 crore.

The company on Monday said it has secured new transmission and distribution (T&D) orders worth ₹1,085 crore in the domestic market.

The company had bagged orders worth ₹1,647 crore in March in the T&D and railways sectors.

Last seen, the stock was trading 8.63% higher at ₹492.35 apiece on the BSE.

Reliance Industries (RIL): The stock was trading nearly 2% higher at ₹1,242.90 on the BSE. On Friday, April 11, the company, in its regulatory filing, said that Nauyaan Trading (NTPL), its step-down wholly owned subsidiary, informed the company that it has completed the acquisition of a further 10% equity stake in Nauyaan Shipyard (NSPL), a step-down subsidiary of the company, for an aggregate consideration of Rs. 51.72 crore from Welspun Corp Limited.
Inox Green Energy Services: Shares of Inox Green Energy Services were trading 17.5% higher at ₹140 apiece on the NSE. The company is a subsidiary of Inox Wind Limited and is a part of the INOXGFL Group, which principally operates in the speciality chemicals and renewable energy sectors and has historical connections with the wider Inox Group, which commenced operations in 1923.

The company is engaged in the business of providing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services and common infrastructure facilities for wind turbine generators.

GM Breweries: Shares of GM Breweries were trading 2.80% higher at ₹659.20 apiece on the BSE after the company announced its Q4 results and the dividend payout.

The company said its board has proposed a dividend of 75%, i.e., ₹7.5 per equity share of ₹10 each.
