ICICI Prudential Life share price rises over 3%; here's what we know about its Q4 performance

ICICI Prudential share price: Shares of life insurer ICICI Prudential Life Insurance rose on Wednesday, April 16, after the company declared its financial results for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2025.

The stock climbed 3.23% to ₹585.45 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 9:25 am.

The private insurer posted a two-fold surge in its profit after tax to ₹386 crore for the latest January-March quarter due to lower expenses. In the year-ago period, it had posted a post-tax profit of ₹174 crore.

Its net premium income advanced 10.6% to ₹16,369 crore in the fourth quarter, as against ₹14,788 crore a year back, ICICI Prudential Life said in an exchange filing.

The firm's expenses declined to ₹15,314 crore in the quarter under review, compared to ₹22,352 crore in the corresponding period of 2023-24.

The total expenses are reduced due to a change in actuarial liability, which includes movement in funds for future appropriation. It has shrunk to ₹80 crore from ₹7,045 crore in the same period in the previous fiscal year.

For the entire FY25, the company's net profit climbed 40% to ₹1,189 crore as against ₹852 crore in FY24.

ICICI Prudential announces dividend

The insurer also announced a dividend of ₹0.85 per equity share. A year back, the company had announced a dividend of ₹0.6 per share.

With an annual premium equivalent, or APE, of ₹10,407 crore for FY25, the value of new business (VNB) margin was 22.8%, it said.

It had assets under management of ₹3.09 lakh crore as of March 2025, against ₹2.94 lakh crore at March 31, 2024.

On Q4 results, Anup Bagchi, MD and CEO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, said, "We are pleased to announce that we have crossed 10,000 crore APE for the first time, marking a significant milestone in our growth journey. Notably, we have also provided insurance coverage to over 9 crore lives as on March 31, 2025. Our Retail Weighted Received Premium (RWRP) growth of 15.2% in FY2025, demonstrates our ability to deliver superior performance in a competitive landscape."
