Capri Global Capital shares crash 30% from intraday high on heavy volumes

Shares of the Mumbai-based diversified non-banking finance company (NBFC) Capri Global Capital dropped a whopping 30% from its intraday high price of ₹231.70 to hit low of ₹162.20 on the BSE amid very high volatility and huge spike in trading volumes.

On the National Stock Exchange also the stock witnessed volatile trend as it dropped 30% from its high price of ₹231.35. The stock opened for trading at ₹191.88 and touched low of ₹162 before closing 15.07% lower at ₹165.50.

Trading volume in Capri Global Capital saw a major spike as 12,08,44,388 shares changed hands on the National Stock Exchange against an average trading volume of 95,23,150 shares. On the BSE, a total of 53.62 lakh shares changed hands as against an average of 1.12 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

The company informed exchanges about closure of trading window for all its promoters, directors, designated persons and their immediate relatives with effect from Tuesday, April 01, 2025, till 48 hours after the announcement of the financial results of the Company for the fourth quarter ending on March 31, 2025.

Capri Global Capital in December quarter reported interest income of ₹546 crore, marking an increase of 50% from ₹365 crore in the same period last year. Its net profit in third quarter of current financial year advanced 111% to ₹108 crore as against ₹51 crore in the year-ago period.

As per the shareholding pattern of the company, promoters of Capri Global Capital own 69.87% stake in the company and 30.13% stake is owned by public shareholders. Mutual funds own 1.64% stake in the company out of which Quant Mutual Fund-Quant ELSS Tax Saver Fund owns 1.53% stake, data from the BSE showed.

Among the insurance companies, SBI Life Insurance owns 3.66% and Life Insurance Corporation of India owns 9.19% stake in the company. Foreign portfolio investors own 1.04% stake in the company.

Capri Global Capital shares ended 15.07% lower at ₹165.50. The stock was top loser in the NIFTY500 index.
