NBCC wins order worth ₹130.58 crore to develop a township project in Meghalaya

PSU firm NBCC India bagged an order from the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) worth ₹130.58 crore to develop a residential township project in Shillong, Meghalaya.

As per the contract, NBCC will construct a township project on a 21.66-acre plot of land acquired by NEEPCO in Umsawli, Shillong of Meghalaya. This initiative aligns with NEEPCO's transition towards sustainable energy and infrastructure, following its decision to abandon a proposed 500 MW thermal power project in the state.

Shares of NBCC India closed 1.39% lower at ₹97.31 apiece on the BSE. The stock has witnessed a significant growth of 19.22% in the last 1 month. The 52-week high of NBCC is ₹139.83 and the 52-week low stands at ₹70.82. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is 60, while its price-to-book (P/B) value is 11.81. It has an earnings per share (EPS) of 1.63 and a return on equity (RoE) of 19.74.

On BSE today, around 9.11 lakh shares were traded, which was lower than the two-week average volume of 18.82 lakh shares. The counter registered a turnover of ₹9 crore, with a market capitalisation (m-cap) of ₹26,406 crore. Sell orders stood at 10.75 lakh shares, compared to buy orders of 4.79 lakh shares.

Last week, the company had secured multiple new work orders with a combined value of approximately ₹64.67 crore. As per a regulatory filing by NBCC, the projects awarded include:

  1. A contract worth ₹16.97 crore (excluding GST) by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha for planning, designing, and executing various development works at Dhamnagar College, Bhadrak.
  2. The planning, designing, and construction of several infrastructure works at the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, with the contract valued at ₹18.05 crore.
  3. The planning, designing, and construction of a new hostel block at Sewa Bharti’s educational campus with a contract worth ₹29.65 crore.

Earlier this month, the company secured orders totaling ₹120.9 crore, including the construction of a multistorey court building in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh, valued at ₹46.69 crore; a 14-court building complex in Bhimavaram worth ₹72.17 crore; and renovation work at the TEC Building in New Delhi for ₹2.04 crore. Additionally, it signed an MoU with RailTel for the development of data centre infrastructure.
