Reliance Jio’s average revenue per user (ARPU) increased 13.5% YoY to ₹206.2 per user.
Reliance Group telecom arm Jio Platforms Ltd reported double-digit growth in Q4 revenue and net profit. Reliance Jio’s revenue rose 17.7% YoY to ₹33,986 crore in the March quarter compared to ₹28,871 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue improved on back of tariff increase for mobility services and better subscriber mix.
Consolidated EBITDA rose by 18.5% to ₹17,016 crore in the Q4 of FY25 compared to ₹14,360 crore in the year-ago period, while EBITDA margin improved by 40 basis points to 50.1%. EBITDA growth driven by healthy revenue growth and margin improvement.
Net profit rose by 25.7% YoY to ₹7,022 crore in the fourth quarter compared to ₹5,587 crore in the year-ago period. For the full year (FY25), revenue stood at ₹1.28 lakh crore compared to ₹1.09 lakh crore in FY24, while net profit jumped 21.8% YoY to ₹26,120.
Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom operator, posted a 1.3% year-on-year rise in total subscriber base to 488.2 million as of March 31, 2024. Net subscriber addition in Q4FY25 was 6.1 million, and monthly churn moderated to 1.8%.
Average revenue per user (ARPU), a key performance indicator, increased further to ₹206.2 with the sustained impact of tariff hikes and better subscriber mix. Reliance Jio’s ARPU jumped 13.5% YoY to ₹206.2 per user from 181.7 in the year-ago period.
Jio continues to drive 5G uptake in India with 191 million subscribers on True5G network, accounting for 39.1% of total subscribed base.
During the quarter, Jio announced an agreement with SpaceX to offer Starlink’s broadband internet services to its customers in India. This agreement is subject to SpaceX receiving authorisations to sell Starlink in India.
