City Union Bank reported a 13% growth in its net profit on Friday, May 2, to ₹288 crore for the January-March quarter year-on-year (YoY). The lender’s net profit for Q4 FY24 was ₹254.8 crore.

The private sector bank net interest income (NII) also saw an increase of 9.8% at ₹600.3 crore YoY as against ₹546.5 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal year.

For FY25, NII had grown by 21% and stood at ₹898 crore as against ₹742 crore for the same period last financial year. Loan processing charges and insurance commissions were the major contributors towards the growth in other income this year.

City Union Bank’s gross NPA stood at 3.09% for Q4 FY25 as against 3.36% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). The net NPA for the period was 1.25%, in contrast to 1.42% QoQ.

Apart from announcing fourth quarter earnings, the bank’s Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of ₹2 per equity share, i.e., 200% on the face value of ₹1 per equity share for FY25.

For the quarter under review, its net interest margin (NIM) was 3.6%. “Net Interest Margin is at 3.60% for FY25, which is broadly in line with our guidance levels given earlier,” the bank said.

The total business grew by 14% YoY to ₹116,600 crore from ₹102,100 crore.

The bank made a provision of ₹555 crore as of March 31, 2025, as compared to ₹501 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal year.

The private lender’s deposits as of March 31, 2025, stood at ₹63,526 crore, while advances were at ₹53,066 crore.

Its current account savings account (CASA) portion stood at 29% of total deposits. The cost of deposits increased to 5.85% in FY25 from 5.59 % in FY24.

City Union Bank is an old private-sector bank with 875 branches across 16 states and three union territories.

On Friday, shares of City Union Bank settled at ₹173.99 apiece, tumbling 1.46% on the National Stock Exchange.
