Axis Bank Q4 results: Axis Bank, the country's leading private sector lender, on Thursday, April 24, reported net profit of ₹7,117.50 crore in quarter ended March 2025, marking a marginal decline of 0.17% from 7,129.67 crore in the same period last year.

Axis Bank's net interest income (NII) or the difference between interest earned on loans and expended on deposits came in at ₹13,810.54 crore at the end of fourth quarter of financial year 2024-25 as against ₹13,089 in the year-ago period, showing an increase of 5.51%.

The bank's provisions for bad loans fell rose on an annual basis but fell sharply on quarter-on-quarter basis. The bank made provisions worth ₹1,359.35 crore at the end of March quarter as against provisions of ₹2,155.63 crore in the previous quarter and ₹1,185 crore in the year ago period.

Axis Bank's asset quality showed a slight improvement as its gross non-performing assets (NPAs), as a percentage of total advances, came in at 1.28% at the end of March quarter compared with 1.46% in the previous quarter and 1.43% in the same period last year.

Its net NPAs improved to 0.33% from 0.35% in the previous quarter.

In absolute terms gross NPAs stood at ₹14,490.11 crore as against ₹15,850.27 in the same period last year.

The bank's board has recommended a dividend of ₹1 per share.

For financial year 2024-25, Axis Bank's net profit rose 6% to ₹26,373.48 crore from ₹24,861.43 in the previous financial year.

In Q4FY25, Axis Bank's total fee income surged 16% (QoQ) and 12% (YoY) to ₹6,338 crore. Retail fee income, which now forms 75% of the bank’s total fee base, jumped 22% (QoQ) and 14% (YoY), the Mumbai-based lender said in an investor presentation.

The bank added 170 branches during the quarter, taking its domestic network to 5,876 branches and extension counters, along with 234 Business Correspondent Banking Outlets across 3,194 centres. Its ATM and cash recycler network grew to 13,941 units. Axis Bank's Virtual Centre now operates across eight locations with a workforce of over 1,700 Virtual Relationship Managers.

Axis Bank shares ended 0.07% higher at ₹1,207.30 ahead of its earnings announcement.
