Gold and silver prices on May 15: 24k Gold rate falls below ₹92,000 amid ease in geopolitical risk and trade war

Domestic gold prices have declined for the third consecutive day this week, replicating the fall in international gold prices. At 11:00 am, the 24K gold rate in the local market stood at ₹91,580 per 10 gram, down ₹1,060/10 gram compared to yesterday’s closing, while 22K gold was at ₹83,948 per 10 gram.

The recent downturn in yellow metal is mainly due to the easing of geopolitical tensions, particularly after the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. Besides this, de-escalation in the US-China trade war after both countries agreed to a temporary pause in reciprocal tariffs also reduced demand for safe-haven assets like gold.

As of 11:00 am, 24K gold rate stood at ₹91,410 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹83,793 per 10 gram in the Mumbai markets.

MCX Gold futures trade in line with the movement witnessed in international markets. As of 11:00 am, the MCX Gold June future is down 1.1% at ₹91,248 per 10 gram, with a day high of ₹91,692 and day low of ₹91,150. In the US markets, Gold futures for June delivery were trading 1.8% or $58 lower at $3,130 an ounce.

Silver Price Today in India (May 15, 2025)

Silver prices are also trading lower in the local market, around ₹94,320 per kg, down 1.3%. Meanwhile, MCX Silver for July delivery trades 1.3% lower at ₹94,174 per kg as of 11:00 am, while international silver prices trade around $31.9 per troy ounce, down 1.6%.
