Gold and silver price on May 2: 24K gold price below ₹93,000 per 10 gram; check prices in your city

Gold prices traded marginally higher on Friday, May 2. At 9:30 am, the 24K gold rate in the local market stood at 92,980 per 10 gram, up ₹320/ 10 gram compared to yesterday’s closing, while 22K gold was at ₹85,232 per 10 gram.

Gold prices rebound after sharp decline in previous three trading session. The yellow metal prices has remained lower after scaling record highs as bullion’s safe-haven appeal fallen among investors on hopes of trade deal between US and its trading partners.

The US government is initiating talks with China for a probable trade deal, and U.S. President Donald Trump signed two orders to ease the impact of auto tariffs are indicating towards improving sentiments and worst of the tariffs is behind us.

Meanwhile, in the domestic markets, gold and silver witnessed robust sales on Akshaya Tritiya, with total sales estimated between ₹15,000 to ₹16,000 crore, as per Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) data. Gold jewellery and related items were sold worth ₹12,000 crore, while Silver sales stood at ₹4,000 crore.

In New Delhi markets, the 24K gold rate stood at ₹92,550 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹84,838 per 10 gram.

MCX Gold futures is also trading higher mirroring the gains witnessed in the international gold prices in early morning trades. As of 9:30 am, the MCX Gold June future was up 0.25% at ₹92,573 per 10 gram, with a day high of ₹93,003 and day low of ₹92,543. In the US markets, Gold futures for June delivery were trading 1.2% or $40 higher at $3,262 an ounce.

Silver prices are also trading lower in the local market, around ₹95,260 per kg, up 0.35%. Meanwhile, MCX Silver for May delivery trades 0.55% higher at ₹94,100 per kg as of 9:30 am, while international silver prices trade around $32.6 per troy ounce, up 1.3%.
