Gold and silver prices declined in India on April 29, 2025, amid easing US-China trade tensions and lower Chinese gold demand. 24K gold fell to ₹95,040/10g, while silver dropped to ₹96,750/kg across major cities.
In Mumbai market, 24K gold rate stood at ₹95,320 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹87,377 per 10 gram.
Gold prices trade lower in domestic markets in early morning trades on Monday, April 29. At 9:20 am, 24K gold traded at ₹95,040 per 10 grams, down ₹940/ 10 gram compared to yesterday’s closing, while 22K gold was at ₹87,120 per 10 gram in the local markets.
Gold prices extended fall amid ease in the US-China trade tensions. Last week, China exempted certain U.S. imports from its retaliatory 125% tariffs, as per media reports. Meanwhile, US government also showed willingness to ease trade tensions with China, with President Donald Trump saying tariff talks were underway with China.
On the flip side, gold consumption in China, which is the world’s second-largest gold consumer after India, declined nearly 6% YoY to 290.492 tons in the first quarter of 2025. Lower consumption comes amid a record rise in gold prices in the international markets.
In New Delhi markets, the 24K gold rate stood at ₹95,150 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹87,221 per 10 gram.

MCX Gold futures is also trading lower mirroring the losses witnessed in the international gold prices in early morning trades. As of 9:30 am, the MCX Gold June future was down 0.91% at ₹95,150 per 10 gram, with a day high of ₹95,800 and day low of ₹95,150. In the US markets, Gold futures for June delivery were trading 0.84% or $27 lower at $3,319 an ounce.
Silver prices are also trading lower in the local market, around ₹96,750 per kg, down 0.35%. Meanwhile, MCX Silver for May delivery trades 0.50% lower at ₹95,979 per kg as of 9:30 am, while international silver prices trade around $32.9 per troy ounce, down 0.17%.
