Gold prices rose in domestic markets after one-day decline on Thursday, April 23. At 9:05 am, 24K gold traded at ₹96,250 per 10 grams, up ₹1,280/ 10 gram compared to yesterday’s closing, while 22K gold is at ₹88,229 per 10 gram in the local markets.
Gold prices are on the rise after experiencing high volatility in previous trading session leading to over 3% fall in the US gold prices after US President Donald Trump said his administration plans to reduce high trade tariffs on China going forward.
In the past few months, Gold rate witnessed substantial rise amid global economic uncertainties and US recession fears and crossed the ₹1 lakh mark on April 22.
Despite today’s fall, global investment firm JP Morgan expects gold to cross $4,000/oz by mid-2026 amid rising fear of recession in the US economy, trade war concern and sustained buying by central banks.
In Delhi markets, the 24K gold rate stood at ₹95,910 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹87,918 per 10 gram.

MCX Gold futures also traded higher today. As of 9:15 pm, the MCX Gold June future was up 1.4% at ₹96,046 per 10 gram, with a day high of ₹96,188 and day low of ₹95,580. MCX gold is mirroring the gains witnessed in the international gold prices in early morning trades. In the US markets, Gold futures for June delivery were trading 1.34% or $44 higher at $3,338 an ounce.
Silver prices are trading marginally lower in the local market, around ₹98,020 per kg. Meanwhile, MCX Silver for May delivery trades 0.31% lower at ₹97,500 per kg as of 9:15 am, while international silver prices trade around $33.3 per troy ounce, down 0.65%.
