Gold prices declined in the domestic market on Wednesday, April 23. 24K gold traded at ₹95,520 per 10 grams, down ₹2,050/ 10 gram compared to yesterday’s closing, while 22K gold is at ₹87,560 per 10 gram in domestic markets.
Gold prices in local markets declined in-line with fall in global gold prices. US gold prices declined from record highs after US President Donald Trump said high trade tariffs on China will eventually be reduced. Last week, Donald Trump imposed 145% tariffs on China, drawing retaliatory tariffs of 125% from Beijing.
US President Donald Trump’s clarification that he had no intention of removing Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and firm US dollar also weighed on gold prices.
Global investment firm, JP Morgan expects gold to cross $4,000/oz by mid-2026 amid rising fear of recession in the US economy, trade war concern and sustained buying by central banks.
In Delhi markets, the 24K gold rate stood at ₹95,200 per 10 gram and 22K gold at ₹87,267 per 10 gram.

MCX Gold futures also traded lower today. As of 1:00 pm, the MCX Gold June future was down 2.1% at ₹95250 per 10 gram, with a day high of ₹96500 and day low of ₹94959. MCX gold is mirroring the losses witnessed in the international gold prices in early morning trades. In the US markets, Gold futures for June delivery were trading 2.8% or $98 lower at $3,321 an ounce.
Silver prices are trading marginally higher in local market, around ₹96,410 per kg. Meanwhile, MCX Silver for May delivery trades 0.12% higher at ₹95995 per kg, while international silver prices trade around $32.80 per troy ounce, down 0.29%.
