President Trump will address the media at a "Make America Wealthy Again" event in the Rose Garden post US market hours at 4 pm ET on Wednesday.

Calling it a "very big day," Leavitt, as quoted by CNBC, said that Trump is "with his trade and tariff team, perfecting it to make sure this is a perfect deal for the American people and workers."
Meanwhile, the US President and his team are still finalising the scope and size of new tariffs, Bloomberg reported. Donald Trump's big claim ahead of April 2 reciprocal threat.

The report said that a firm decision has not been taken yet on forthcoming levies. A customised reciprocal plan and a tiered tariff system are said to be under consideration.

If the US administration decides on a customised reciprocal plan, exclusive reciprocal rates will be applied to countries on the basis of their existing levies and non-tariff barriers.

Under the tiered tariff system, according to Bloomberg, the levies would be applied at a 10% or 20% rate depending on their tariffs on US goods.
A flat global tariff is also on the cards, which would apply evenly to all imports. What reciprocal tariffs mean for India? How's govt navigating challenge?

The reciprocal tariffs come after a series of other import duties that Trump has imposed since taking office in January. He has imposed levies on goods from Canada, Mexico, and China, and sector-specific tariffs on metals and imported cars.
