IndiGO flight 6E2045 from Delhi to Amritsar returned to the national capital after being airborne for sometime.

IndiGo cancelled all flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot for May 13, 2025, citing safety concerns following suspected drone sightings near the India-Pakistan border.

The airline issued a travel advisory urging passengers to check flight statuses on its website or app before heading to airports.

“In light of the latest developments and with your safety as our utmost priority, flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot are cancelled for 13th May 2025,” the advisory read.

“We understand how this may disrupt your travel plans, and regret the inconvenience caused. Our teams are actively monitoring the situation and will promptly keep you informed of further updates,” it added.

The advisory came shortly after an IndiGo flight 6E2045 from Delhi to Amritsar returned to the national capital following precautionary blackout measures in the city of Punjab.

Flight tracking data from Flightradar24.com confirmed the aircraft returned after being airborne for some time.

Security forces engaged suspected drones observed along the International Border in the Samba district of Jammu, reported PTI, quoting an army official.

The incident occurred barely hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation post-Operation Sindoor and a meeting between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan.

The Army later confirmed the situation was under control, stating, "No enemy drones are being reported at present."

Blackouts were enforced in Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Jammu as a precautionary measure.

Lights were also switched off at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and its track, according to PTI.

Earlier in the day, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced the reopening of 32 airports, including Srinagar and Amritsar, for civilian operations with immediate effect.

Air India said it would progressively resume flights to Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot from Tuesday, with bookings now open.

Air India Express said it would gradually reinstate operations from the affected airports following the lifting of NOTAMs.
