The Ministry of Labour and Employment on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ride-hailing platform Rapido to strengthen employment linkages in the logistics sector through the National Career Service (NCS) portal.

Under the MoU, Rapido will list verified job opportunities for bike taxi, auto, and cab drivers on the NCS portal and recruit directly through it. The partnership will feature API-based integration for real-time postings and application tracking, with a strong focus on youth and flexible work arrangements.

The partnership is expected to support structured onboarding, digital empowerment, and awareness of worker welfare schemes.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Ministry of Labour & Employment Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, the labour ministry statement said.

“The National Career Service portal is a dynamic platform bringing job seekers and employers together, across India. With over 1.75 crore active job seekers and over 40 lakh registered employers, it is playing a crucial role in workforce mobilisation,” said Mandaviya at the signing ceremony.

He lauded Rapido’s initiative to to bring 50 lakhs livelihood opportunities to the platform in the next one to two years and stressed the government's commitment to making NCS a hyperlocal and inclusive job-matching system.

"NCS is getting strengthened day by day. It is integrated with My Bharat, eShram, SIDH, MEA – eMigarte portal along with many other private portals," Mandaviya said.

Karandlaje congratulated Rapido for its focus on women’s employment.

Rapido co-founder Pavan Guntupalli thanked the ministry and underlined the platform’s efforts to scale employment, including the "Pink Rapido" initiative designed specifically to boost opportunities for women.

The ministry said the collaboration is part of the efforts to partner with private employers and gig platforms to bridge the gap between job seekers and employment providers, creating a robust and inclusive employment ecosystem.
